Sandro Ferrone was born in Rome, a city that has long been a symbol of Italian fashion and elegance. The story of Ferrone S.p.A. began in the post-war years as a textile trading business, gradually evolving into a fashion company and becoming a leading name in both the Italian and international prêt-à-porter industry. Its heritage is deeply rooted in Italian culture and craftsmanship. One of the brand’s earliest milestones dates back to 1962, when Sophia Loren won the Academy Award for Two Women. In one of the film’s most iconic scenes, the actress wore a dress purchased by director Vittorio De Sica from Sandro Ferrone’s boutique. At the time, Sandro Ferrone was a young prêt-à-porter retailer who had recently opened his store in Via Turati, near Piazza Vittorio, in the heart of Rome’s historic wholesale district. From those beginnings, the company embarked on a journey of growth and innovation that continued over the following decades. In 1989, the first Sandro Ferrone boutique opened, marking an important step in the development of the brand’s retail presence. In 2009, the company launched Lola, a line created to combine style and comfort, while in 2017 it strengthened its positioning with the opening of a new concept store in Milan. By 2022, the company had sold more than 1.9 million garments, and in 2025 it recorded over €30 million in revenue. According to Michele Carillo, these results and strategic investments reflect the company’s commitment to pursuing growth even in challenging times, while continuing to invest in digital transformation and business development. The long-term vision includes the opening of 15 additional boutiques across Italy, alongside the further expansion of the brand’s presence and partnerships in international markets. From its Roman origins to its international development, Sandro Ferrone has built a legacy defined by craftsmanship, innovation and a constantly evolving vision of Italian fashion.
